ABOUT HEART TO HEART

Heart to Heart is an organization dedicated to assisting abused women and children in the Greater Cincinnati area by providing support and basic household supplies as they rebuild their lives free of abuse.

Every Year, over 1200 women and children come to Cincinnati area battered women's shelters to escape an abusive situation in their home. Most leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Heart to Heart is a volunteer organization started by a handful of women who saw a need and wanted to help. We volunteer our support to the caseworkers and staff at the YWCA Battered Women’s Shelter. Since we began in November of 2002, we have concentrated our efforts on providing basic necessities by assembling sets of supplies to give these women and their children from the time they first arrive at the shelter until they move into permanent housing. These women desperately want to start a new abuse-free life.

To help maintain self-respect and a sense of pride, everything we provide for the women and their children is new; we shop wisely for the best bargains available.

	WOMEN'S SET Average cost: $72.00 Our Women's Set includes a pillow and pillowcase, blanket, shower curtain and rings, towels and washcloths, and a bathroom rug. It also includes shampoo, lotion and other personal hygiene products. The Women's Set is contained in an 18-gallon plastic bin for portability and storage.
	CLEANING SET Average cost: $38.00 Our Cleaning Set includes a laundry basket, bucket, mop, broom, dustpan, toilet scrubber and sponges. An assortment of cleaning products are included with the set.
	STARTING OVER SET *Average Cost: $60.00* Our Starting Over Set includes a set of dishes, silverware, and glassware for four. Kitchen supplies and pots and pans are included in an 18-gallon plastic bin for portability and storage.
	CHILD'S SET *Average Cost: $31.00* Each Child's Set includes a pillow and pillowcase, blanket, toothbrush and toothpaste, and towel and washrag. Age and gender appropriate toys, books, and games are included along with a stuffed animal if appropriate.
